Pray and work and do not be sad! (Saint Gregory)
In Saint Lioba, according to a long monastic tradition, “all” are working together different jobs, necessary for the welfare of the community. In various workshops sisters and brothers make weavings, batiks, sculptures, stained-glass windows and paintings, reflection of their faith in Him, who is the source of all the beauty. By this work we earn what is necessary for the living and it also allows us sometimes to help others, who are in need: to-day, our community is particularly in union with the missions in Cambodia and Benin
.
Manual work does not prevent to live in the presence of God. Everybody of us has an experience that all the tiredness of the work will never be enough “for growing only one rose!” … God is much more working in our work than we are.
The smallest work done with love, continues in our world the Creator’s work of love and merit also the best to us. We hope that God for every of our works can exclaim like in the history of the creation : “That is “tov” good, beautiful!.”
